The Comenius Project – “Immigrants, Roots and Roads” is a two-year European project which involves three countries: Belgium, Germany and France. The goal is to be able to experience an exchange of culture while speaking English. In late March we’re going to Germany and in October, we’ll be going to Belgium.
From February 9th to 14th, we welcomed the German and Belgian students and teachers to Felix Faure School. It was a really rewarding week because teachers organized great activities for us such as watching the movie Welcome about immigration, taking a boat tour in Paris, visiting the museum of immigration, going on a treasure hunt to discover Beauvais, and bowling! There were also some group work sessions where we split up to do things like discussing the movie, documenting the week, or talking about cultural differences and what we have learned. We even had the chance to hear the personal stories of immigrants here in France as well as hear presentations by the Ministry of Interior that document the statistical side of immigration.
Overall, it has been a fantastic experience so far and we are excited for the future of the project!
