In October 2014, 20 students from TL1 and TL2 and 4 teachers (Mrs Albar, Dubois-Pager, Shute, and Mr Sagnier) went to Bruges to visit our Belgian partners for the final visit of our Comenius project “Immigrants Roots and Roads”.

The project started in September 2013. Two visits took place during the previous academic year: France in Lycée Félix Faure in February 2014 and Germany in Stadtteilschule Hamburg in March 2014.

During this visit to Belgium, the students went further regarding the different issues of the Comenius project: they attended a conference by a Red Cross social worker and then visited a Red Cross center accommodating refugees. They met first and second generation immigrants and discussed their lives in Belgium with them. The students and their teachers also visited the European Commission in Brussels and watched a film, Marina, about the life of an Italian immigrant in Belgium in the 1950s.

This third visit was, once again, a wonderful opportunity for the students and their teachers to meet European students and teachers and to discuss both issues associated with the project and education in Europe.

Thank you Comenius!
